Bridal hair that still feels like you…. Just Elevated

How to find the right hairstyle for you.

Choosing your wedding hair style can feel overwhelming, for many brides hair and makeup are one of the biggest decisions in the planning process, and I completely understand why. As a bridal hairstylist in Essex, I see this all the time. Years from now you will be looking back on photos and wanting to know you made the right choice.

I have worked with many brides who arrive at their trial feeling a little nervous, or feeling like they need to look a certain way because it’s their wedding day. I am a huge advocate for encouraging brides to still feel you, my role as a luxury bridal hairstylist is to help you feel calm, confident and the very best version of yourself. Creating a relaxed environment is one of my strengths, from the moment we meet, I want you to feel completely at ease. When you feel comfortable, we can explore what works best for you and your personal style.

If you are a bride to be who is in the planning process, here are a few things to consider before your trials. I ask my brides these 3 questions.

How do you wear your hair on a daily basis?
What is it you don’t like about your hair? and what styles are you looking to avoid?
What attracts you to a particular style? Is it the detail, volume, movement?

If you are someone who finds decisions difficult, I often start with a different question, what is it you don’t like? this will immediately guide us right direction of the style you are looking for. Together during your trial, we also speak about your dress design. We are looking to ensure your hair compliments your dress neckline.

Hairstyles that suit different necklines.

I wont go into every neckline, but lets cover the most popular options we are seeing for 2026.

Strapless - Hair down, or a soft half up half down will beautifully frame your shoulders.
High neck - A high bun or sleek ponytail keeps the neckline clean and balanced.
Thick straps - Low bun, or half up half down with your hair toward the back works really well.
Plunge neckline - Half up half down with some hair forwards. Soft curls around your face will compliment the shape perfectly.

I hope this has helped you. Remember, these are simply suggestions, not rules you have to follow. Your wedding day is personal, and your hair should reflect that. Choose a style that feels right for you, not just what you think you should have.

Try not to overthink the process. Your trial is there for a reason, it’s your time to try different options, ask questions, and make adjustments until everything feels just right. Trust the process, and trust the stylist you’ve chosen to guide you.

Most importantly, enjoy it. This is such a special part of your wedding journey, and it should feel exciting, not stressful. When you look back, you’ll remember how you felt just as much as how you looked so feeling comfortable, confident, and like yourself is what truly matters.
